MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

A short little video pushing the limits of low light with the 5D3 Magic Lantern RAW module.

Using only available light and set to ISO 1600, the image is quite clean. Some shots look a little wonky because they are slowed down and use FCPX’s optical flow (which isn’t new in 10.1, but i didn’t actually know about it!).

Unfortunately since the roundtrip with Resolve 10 is broken cuz of fcpxml 1.3, I wasn’t able to grade there, so exported ProRes 4444 work files and graded inside FCPX 10.1. It’s incredibly fast!

Lenses used were my favourite Trio: Canon EF 16-35 f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 macro.

And for those that asked, the aspect is the non-standard 2:1, as per House of Cards.
